HSBC Life Enhanced Care II (New from April 2026)
The new Enhanced Care II rider replaces the old Enhanced Care rider from 1 April 2026, complying with MOH’s new ISP rider requirements:
- Covers up to 95% of eligible hospitalisation bills (excluding deductibles)
- Deductible ($1,500–$3,500) must be paid out of pocket — not covered by this rider
- Co-payment cap set at $6,000 per year
- New: Dementia outpatient coverage — up to $500 per year
- New: Premium-loading underwriting — allows acceptance for some applicants with pre-existing conditions instead of outright rejection
- Approximately 30-35% cheaper in premiums compared to old Enhanced Care rider
- Up to 18X MediShield Life claim limit for outpatient cancer drug treatments when combined with HSBC Life Shield
What happened to the old Enhanced Care rider? The old Enhanced Care rider is no longer available for new purchases from 1 April 2026. If you purchased the old rider before 27 November 2025, your existing rider continues under current terms with no immediate changes.

- Those who primarily use restructured hospitals (Class B2/C wards) — MediShield Life alone may be sufficient
